Principal's Message

Hello Black Mountain Families,

I would like to introduce myself, I am Daniel Emborsky and I am Honored and Excited to be your New Black Mountain School Principal. I have lived here in Golden Valley for 16 years. My drive is to provide all students and families of our community with the best Education and Opportunities possible. I am proud to be a Panther and support the Panther P.R.I.D.E (Positive, Respectful, Intellectual, Dedicated, & Engaged).

Black Mountain starts a new journey this year as we start to implement the Cambridge Curriculum and Model in our Middle School grades. Our goal is to be an All Cambridge Curriculum School in the next five years. We will work endlessly to Provide the best educational opportunities for all our students. Cambridge brings with it an excellent Model of Learner Attributes: Confident, Responsible, Reflective, Innovative, and Engaged.

So, on behalf of the staff at Black Mountain School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  • Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience.
  • Completes all homework assignments given by teachers.
  • Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills.
  • Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life.
  • Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject.
  • Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and do their very best.

Please consider volunteering when possible, as our school can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s activities and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:

  • Teacher-led instructional support, usually in the classroom.
  • Reading with children who need extra help.
  • School-wide events.
  • Student recognition events.
  • Participation in our PTVO group.

I am attaching a copy of our school handbook so that you and your child can review it together and fully understand the school rules and procedures. This handbook will be available online on our KUSD web page, also we will be reviewing the handbook the first days of school with your children to ensure everyone is fully informed of the rules and expectations. If you have any questions about the rules and expectations please feel free to contact me and I will answer any of your questions.

The wonderful Black Mountain staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to meeting you. Together we can Succeed at Anything!!!

Sincerely,
Daniel Emborsky III M.S.EDL
